Marty Duhatschek and Kalin Wesenberg

Since Rebel's birth, Marty took on an exciting, but challenging role of producing content for the organization. Marty has written over 14 plays that Rebel has performed. Several have been successfully published.

Marty had to consider many factors when writing his plays not limited to the number of actors needing parts, the range of experience levels those actors had, and weaving a story that is cohesive and interesting! One of his greatest challenges of all was the dreaded Spell Check button. Did you know there is a button to ADD a word to the dictionary?

With majority of his plays being written in the 90's, there is a certain nostalgia to them; however, they can have dated language, humor, and social commentary at times.

The complexity of stories also ranges from fairytales with happy endings, like "Cinderella" or "Super Potato" to a dark and gritty tone in "Ripper" or "Frankenstein". Marty teamed up with his daughter, Kalin, to write a collaborative work, "Webster" which Rebel debuted in Omro 2011.
